Haughton Mars Project (HMP): Sea-Ice Traverse May 06, 2010 10:41:33 AM | NASA Testing for Human Space Exploration

In preparation for the Haughton-Mars Project in July, the international HMP team will drive the Moon-1 Humvee Rover across 200 km of frigid, snow-covered arctic barrens, including a critical stretch crossing 35 km of rough sea-ice filling the Wellington Channel. The challenging journey to Devon Island will take approximately two to three days, if the weather and sea-ice conditions are favorable.
